Nanocellulose, derived from cellulose, consists of ultrafine fibers with diameters at the nanoscale, offering limitless potential for various applications. The application of nanocellulose in polymer composites can significantly enhance mechanical properties such as strength, more efficiently than what can be achieved with materials at the micro level. Its low air permeability, outstanding mechanical properties, and clear optical characteristics make it highly suitable for edible and pharmaceutical packaging materials. Furthermore, due to its low thermal expansion coefficient and high strength, nanocellulose shows great potential for use in lithium-ion battery separators, displays, solar cells, electronic paper, and sensors.
